Aerofab Capabilities

 

Forming

Aerofab leads Titanium Hot Forming Services for the aerospace industry. Aerofab also has six cold presses ranging in size and capability up to 500 tons.

Heat Treat

Aerofab houses four vacuum and four open air furnaces. Cycle types include but are not limited to brazing, annealing, aging, and solution heat treating.

Laser/EDM Technology

Aerofab offers both YAG and CO2 laser drilling and cutting. Our seven lasers can handle a unique range of materials and sizes.

Coatings

Aerofab offers a wide variety of coating services to meet your requirements.  These services include plasma, HVOF, hard coat, TBC and abradable coating.

Testing

Flow testing, pressure testing and metallurgical evaluation are just a few of the services Aerofab provides. Our in-house lab allows uninterrupted support of our highly controlled internal processes.

Water Jet

Aerofab’s Water Jet dept. is complimented by a dynamic head 3-axis machine and a large envelope 5-axis gantry style. The machines process a variety of material thicknesses and sizes for cutting and drilling.

Machining

Aerofab has diverse machining capabilities, with multiple CNC Mills & Lathes. Our machining envelope ranges up to 75 in. diameter and 54 in. height, with onsite programming and simulation software.

Cleaning

Cleaning is fundamental to almost all products processed within Aerofab. Our cleaning processes consist of aqueous, solvent, and titanium acid via Aerofab’s designated clean line.

Sheet Metal Fabrication

Our expert fabricators have experience with some of the most complex designs the aerospace manufacturing industry has to offer. Aerofab’s proven fabrication techniques, state of the art equipment, and software has made us a reliable supplier to our customers, both large and small.

Inspection & Verification

We offer a quality control center that features an in-house metallurgical lab, multiple CMMs, multiple laser scanners, and VMMs (Visual Measurement Machine). Between these different inspection methods, we can satisfy any inspection needs.

Welding

Aerofab’s welding capabilities include but are not limited to manual Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), semi-automatic GTAW, orbital, resistance seam, and stud welding. Our extensive welding material experience includes titanium and superalloys (stainless steels, Inconel, Hastalloy, etc.).

Tooling

Aerofab machine tooling—including custom tooling—enables the manufacturability and repeatability of your project. Our expert tool design team allows us to develop the necessary fixtures, dies, and gauges required to maintain accuracy during aerospace manufacturing, processing, and inspection.

Tube Bending

Tube bending capabilities ranging up to 3” diameter. Alloys include Inconel, titanium, stainless steel, etc.

 

Spin Forming

CNC lathe spinning capability up to 38” diameter,  this includes hot and cold spinning.

Engineering Services

Aerofab offers concurrent engineering services for any of our customers who require them.

Non-destructive Testing

Our non-destructive testing services include FPI, X-ray, pressure and flow testing.
